In 1928, Martin Picard, a craftsman specialising in quality bags, established with his sons Edmund and Alois, the Picard Company in Obertshausen, Germany. The sample collection which travelled with Edmund Picard during the first years to Offenbach was transported on the front and back carriers of his bicycle.
In 1935, the Picard brothers began to produce bags in larger quantities to meet growing demand. They aimed to produce consistently high quality goods at reasonable prices. Box calf, cow and morocco leather bags were produced by more than 100 workers. Today, over 88 years later, Picard continues to produce top quality leather products with a distinctively Picard flair.
